ill titleWelcome !

We are based in Western Australia in a home environment. Although we have only been part of the Show Ring scene since the start of 2008 we have owned Dachshunds for about thirty years.

ill_1Our Sire and Dam were chosen from a proven line. Both Dachshunds come from dogs sound in health that have proven themselves in the show ring. An even. quite temperament was a quality we were looking for and we weren't disappointed. We have strived to choose a pair that will improve the linage through to the next generation of Mini Long Haired Dachshund.
All our dogs are tested for PRA Cord-1
Our Dachshunds are part of our family They are able to romp on the grass or laze in the shade. Freedom to wander inside or out sets the scene for contentment.

We are currently showing, as well as our two at home (Hansel and Gretel), one of their pups, Cloverdach Pipers Echo. Piper and his two sisters were born March 13th 2010.

Piper is a lovely Chocolate and Tan and is PRA Cord-1 Clear

ill titleThe Dachshund

Dachshund pronounced dak-sund, originated in Germany, the word Dachs, in German means badger. They were breed to hunt and follow these animals under ground. The miniatures were breed to go after hare and rabbits.
They are alert and very lively; they are also very affectionate and make good companions. Early socialisation is required in order to acclimate dachshunds to children, visitors and other animals. They are a breed that becomes quite attached to their family and usually one family member in particular. ill_2

Although eager to please they some times can be stubborn. Care should be taken using stairs, because of their elongated spine . Dachshunds can live happily in a flat or house.. If living in a place with a garden it must be very well fenced due to their hunting instincts. Bear in mind that Dachshunds were bred to 'go to ground'
